The Winning Try, a sports comedy, has been introduced as the first new weekly K-drama under Netflix’s lucrative partnership with South Korean broadcaster SBS. The Winning Try, originally known as Try: We Become Miracles, is a forthcoming sports-comedy series in South Korea that Kim Ji Yon and Kim Jae Hyun are co-directing. The series is produced by the South Korean network SBS.
Netflix and SBS inked a lucrative partnership in late 2024, and the k-drama will be the first new weekly k-drama under that deal. In addition to brand-new weekly K-dramas from the second half of 2025, the agreement included bringing legacy SBS material to Netflix.
When will The Winning Try be available on Netflix?
On July 25, 2025, the South Korean network SBS will start airing The Winning Try.
On April 22, 2025, the X account @ggonigone, which has a history of providing accurate updates on new Netflix titles, announced that The Winning Try would be broadcasting simultaneously with Netflix.
Although SBS and Netflix have not yet formally confirmed this, we anticipate confirmation shortly.
Two episodes will air on Fridays and Saturdays each week, for a total of twelve episodes. The series’ final episode is slated to air on August 30, 2025.
The duration of each episode will be roughly seventy minutes.
What is the plot of The Winning Try?
Ju Ga Ram was previously seen as Korean rugby’s bright future, but he was forced to leave the sport due to a drug controversy. He returns to coach the high school rugby team he played for three years later, which is currently the league’s weakest squad. Additionally, Ju Ga Ram bumps across his ex-boyfriend, the high school shooting coach Bae I Ji, whom he dated for ten years before ending things due to a drug scandal.
Who are the cast members of The Winning Try?
Ju Ga Ram is portrayed by Yoon Kye Sang. The actor previously played the character of Koo Sang Jun in the Netflix K-drama The Frog. In addition, he starred in The Greatest Love, The Good Wife, and Chocolate.
Bae I Ji is portrayed by Im Se Mi. The actress played a supporting role in the K-drama The Whirlwind on Netflix. She also had cameos in Mr. Sunshine and Love Alarm. She has played prominent parts in K-dramas such My Dearest Nemesis, Wonderful World, and The Worst of Evil.
Yun Song Jun is portrayed by Kim Yo Han. In addition to being a member of the boy band WEI, the actor is a K-pop celebrity. He has acted in K-dramas such A Love So Beautiful and School 2021. With appearances in the K-dramas Our Shining Star and The 4th Love Revolution, 2025 will be a busy year for the actor.
