It has been a difficult nine months for Netflix Games. Notwithstanding certain achievements, the relatively new division has had significant managerial changes, project cancellations, and the removal of a large number of games from the TV and mobile libraries. The terrible news keeps coming: more than 20 titles are slated to depart in July 2025. The three Monument Valley games, Carmen Sandiego, and the highly regarded Hades are among the highlights.

Update: Another departure is Fashionverse. Hades and Carmen Sandiego’s removal dates were added earlier.

Given that there have been a few waves of removals, namely since late December, Netflix game removals aren’t exactly shocking at this time. A number of departures from Netflix’s TV and web streaming catalog have occurred in more recent times. The most recent elimination occurred in June 2025 and involved Poinpy from Devolver Digital.

As previously stated, Netflix has also canceled a number of planned projects and releases, such as Tales of the Shire, Don’t Starve Together, and Crashlands 2. Not to mention the fact that Netflix Stories was discontinued even though there were plans for further stories for different Netflix IPs, or the fact that a number of projects that had not yet been formally announced were secretly canceled.

What games are leaving Netflix in July 2025?

As of publishing, 22 out of 23 games—or over 20% of Netflix’s whole collection of mobile games—had leaving soon notifications. Your “Last day to play” is July 14th, and removals, with a few exceptions, are scheduled for July 15th.

Here’s a rundown of the departures planned:

  • Battleship
  • Braid, Anniversary Edition
  • Carmen Sandiego (Leaving July 1st)
  • CoComelon: Play with JJ
  • Death’s Door
  • Diner Out: Merge Cafe
  • Dumb Ways to Die
  • Fashionverse
  • Ghost Detective
  • Hades (Note: Only available on iOS devices – Leaving July 1st)
  • Katana ZERO
  • LEGO Legacy: Heroes Unboxed
  • Ludo King
  • Monument Valley
  • Monument Valley 2
  • Monument Valley 3
  • Rainbow Six: SMOL
  • Raji: An Ancient Epic
  • SpongeBob: Bubble Pop F.U.N.
  • TED Tumblewords
  • The Case of the Golden Idol
  • The Rise of the Golden Idol
  • Vineyard Valley

The majority of the removals, as you can see, are branded or based on intellectual property that Netflix has no control over. You might also have noticed that several of these titles are relatively recent releases. For example, Carmen Sandiego was only made available on Netflix in January of this year. Monument Valley 3 was first released only on Netflix, but it will soon be released elsewhere after receiving a lot of marketing support from the streaming service.

Although Netflix plans to keep making investments in gaming, insiders suggest that, beginning later this year, its efforts will be mostly concentrated on the big-screen experience. These sources predict that mobile game releases will continue, albeit more slowly than in the past, with an emphasis on a few categories that are successful, like large IP acquisitions, kid- and family-friendly games, and other Netflix IP-based titles. As a result, we anticipate that Netflix’s gaming collection will get smaller over the next few months and years.

We have already approached Netflix’s PR team regarding game departures, and they have informed us that “games will be removed from Netflix as licenses expire, just like with series and film.” A “Leaving Soon” label will be visible to players, and the app itself will alert them well in advance of its withdrawal.

WWE 2K, Spirit Crossing, and the recently revealed Netflix Puzzled—which is already undergoing testing—are among the upcoming titles that are still anticipated to join Netflix.

Do you find it disappointing that all of these Netflix titles will be discontinued in July 2025? Tell us in the comments section below.
